Agilent 8900 QQQ-ICP-MS
The Agilent 8900 QQQ-ICP-MS is a triple quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer that allows for MS/MS which can control reaction chemistry ensuring consistent, reliable results even for previously difficult elements like Si, P, and S. The Agilent 8900 is capable of sub part per trillion (ppt) levels of detection for high mass elements and sub parts per billion (ppb) levels of detection for almost all elements on the periodic table aside from C, H, N, O, F and noble gases. The reaction chemistry provided by H, He, or O gas can resolve isobaric overlaps and doubly charged interferences which are beyond the capability of high-resolution ICP-MS. Researchers can be trained in instrument operation, sample preparation, data analysis, and basic troubleshooting for unaccompanied instrument use or samples can be prepared, run, and analyzed by the facility.

The Agilent 1260 Infinity II Bioinert HPLC is a metal-free flow path high performance liquid chromatography instrument capable of 600 bar of pressure. The HPLC can be connected to the existing Agilent 8900 QQQ-ICP-MS to conduct low volume sampling or speciation analysis of a variety of elements including As, Hg, Fe, Zn, etc.
Accessories:1260 Bioinert Multi-sampler for a variety of sample vessels and 96-well plates. Designed for low carryover and multi-wash capability.
Accessories: 1260 diode array detector for wide wavelength range analysis from 190 to 950 nm
Cost (per hour): $30 internal / $42 external academic / $72 industry rate per hour
The ESI microFAST single cell autosampler allows for the introduction of single cells into an ICP-MS to measure the content in each cell, or tagged to each cell. The microFAST SC also allows investigators to better understand how much a specific nanoparticle, metallodrug, or metal-based compound enters the cell. The system provides flexible sampling volumes from µL to mL while ensuring cells stay intact with no cell lysing due to the low pressure sample introduction and high transport efficiency.
Accessories: CytoNeb for low back pressure (1-50 µL/min = < 50 psi) and dead volume and unmatched nebulization efficiency.
Accessories: CytoSpray spray chamber for parallel path, low energy sample transport keeping cells and nanoparticles intact.
Cost (per hour): $30 internal / $42 external academic / $72 industry rate per hour
